After a brief hospital stay, Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec, a Strictly pair, are bringing their new baby girl home.
Aljaz, a loving father of three, posted the heartwarming image of himself and wife Janette smiling at each other as they left with their infant.
On Friday, July 28, baby Lyra Rose Skorjanec was born, and Aljaz hasn’t hesitated to share gorgeous pictures of his little child.
‘Step by step’ wrote the Strictly Come Dancing professionals with three heart emojis in a joint post of the black and white picture.
This is the second image the new parents have shared with fans; to reveal Lyra’s name, they posted a brand-new black-and-white image of their growing family.
It’s hardly surprising that they’re excited to bring their daughter home when Janette said that she was experiencing a lot of agony during her pregnancy.
Lyra was in her carrier in the backseat of the car in an additional photo that Alajz posted on his account with the description “slow and steady.”
The pair had also placed a mirror on the headrest of the seat, which displayed Lyra contentedly dozing off as Janette sat next to her.
Lyra looked cosy as can be under a blanket after her mother Janette shared a quick video of her getting dressed for the drive.
‘Our first road trip as a family heading home today, Lyra [rose emoji] is very cosy,’ wrote the first-time mum.
Congratulations rolled in for the couple when they announced the birth, including from Strictly co-star Gorka Márquez who said: ‘So gorgeous!!! 💛’
Motsi Mabuse wrote: ‘Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ !! A start of a very very special and unique time. I an certain this little angel has chosen the perfect parents. ❤️❤️❤️’
The pair has been married since 2017, and when Janette announced the pregnancy, she gave a brief account of their attempts to conceive.
When she announced the pregnancy, Janette said: ‘For the past couple of years we hadn’t been using protection but nothing was happening, so we thought IVF was the next best thing for us to do.’
She added to Hello! Magazine: ‘I know that IVF can be really strenuous on a woman’s body and there is no guarantee it will work, so to know that this little miracle just came from a wonderful night we had together is amazing.
‘I think the baby decided to make mum and dad panic a bit before saying, “ok, fine, I’m coming up now.”’
