Jason Manford claimed that his grandma Leah was rushed to the hospital only hours before he was supposed to board an aircraft for his vacation.
The 41-year-old comic shared an update on social media, explaining why he won’t be wearing shorts anytime soon.
On Instagram last Tuesday night, he praised Leah for being such a ‘warrior,’ alongside a photo of her hospital admittance bracelet.
He also stated that he would be cancelling plans to travel overseas to keep his grandma company while she was being cared for at A&E.
The comedian captioned his image, ‘Was packed for a getaway 3 hours ago and now in Wythenshawe A&E with Nana Manford!’ Staff has been wonderful, and at 99, she is an excellent trooper! Come on, Nana, let’s go to 100! [sic]’.
Plenty of well-wishes flowed in below the Starstruck judges post including a message from Carol Vorderman who said: ‘Come on Nana Manford’.

Harry Hill also commented: ‘Wishing Nana Manford a speedy recovery’, while a fan offered words of encouragement: ‘These older people are as strong as an ox! My MIL is 90 next week and four weeks ago she was given two days to live! She’s still going strong [sic]’.
Nana Manford had previously appeared on the star’s social media when he posted a touching video of the elderly lady in 2017.
Jason played his CD A Different Stage to Leah in the video, and she was seen wiping away tears.
‘Finally to my grandad and nana Manford – Charlie and Leah – who every Sunday at their house would play so many old songs and tunes from musicals that they became ingrained in my own musical taste to this day.’ he captioned the beautiful moment.
The video shows the couple singing along to Jason’s rendition of Leah’s favourite song, Perry Como’s 1970 classic It’s Impossible.
‘That’s why I make music, to make older ladies cry,’ the comedian said in the video’s backdrop.
Despite the health concern, Jason is due to return as a judge on ITV1’s Starstruck, which returns on Saturday with its newest member Shania Twain.
