Jennifer Aniston has revealed the toll her gruelling gym programme has had on her physique over the years.
The Friends actor, 54, claimed to sustaining “many injuries” in her attempt to stay active in the past, and even admitting to pushing herself so hard that she “burned out and broke my body.”
She has since changed her approach to be more gentler on herself.
Talking in a new interview as she unveiled her collaboration with fitness brand Pvolve, the star discussed how she now avoids repetitive exercise such as ‘the monotony of banging yourself out on a treadmill for 45 minutes’.
‘When you’re in a mindset of, “I need to do 45 minutes of cardio or I won’t get a good workout,” it’s daunting,’ Jennifer shared.
‘I believed it for so long. I just burnt out and broke my body.’
When asked about overworking out in the past, the celebrity told InStyle, ‘My physical therapist handed me a Barbie doll that’s coated in Kinesio tape.’
Although it may appear to be a funny mental image, Jennifer added that she later discovered the aim of all that tape was to “show every injury I’ve had in the last 15 years.”
The Murder Mystery 2 actress recently admitted that her first purchase with her Friends salary was a huge mistake.
She rose to prominence on the famous 1990s comedy, which aired from 1994 to 2004, as Rachel Green, a waitress turned fashion executive.
The comedy, which also starred Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer, was so popular that the cast made history by receiving £1 million each episode in the early 2000s, which was the highest pay for sitcom performers at the time.

But despite the colossal earnings, Jennifer has said her first big buy was a ‘lemon.’
‘I do remember my first big splurge was on a Mercedes that had a for sale sign on it for almost two years,’ she shared.
Recalling she had repeatedly seen the car near Melrose Avenue, LA, The Morning Show star continued to Popsugar : ‘There was a little white 280 SL Mercedes and it was there for a long time. It could’ve been over two years.
‘I was always like, “I can’t wait, someday”.’

After receiving her Friends dollar, Jennifer promptly bought the car but it appears her enjoyment was short-lived.
She continued: ‘I drove it and then drove it again, and it never drove again.
‘It was a lemon and that’s why it’s been sitting there. I didn’t know any better to get it checked out. So, that was just a nice 25-year-old mistake.’
