Emily Clarkson has spoken out against her father Jeremy Clarkson following his vitriolic column about hating Meghan Markle on a ‘cellular level’.
The Grand Tour host Clarkson has been widely condemned after making ‘disgusting’ comments about the Duchess of Sussex in The Sun in which he said he wishes to see people ‘throw lumps of excrement at her.’
Carol Vorderman led the celebrities ferociously calling out the journalist and presenter, with the likes of comedian John Bishop and radio host Edith Bowman also uniting to deplore him.
And now, Clarkson’s own daughter Emily, 28, has also followed suit and declared she ‘stands against everything’ he wrote.
‘My views are and have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying and the treatment of women by the media,’ she said in a statement shared on her Instagram page.
‘I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle and I remain standing in support of those that are targeted with online hatred.’
Many have applauded Emily for speaking up, with Vorderman among those voicing their support.
‘His [Clarkson’s] wonderful daughter Emily has just put out a statement on her Instagram account,’ she penned.
‘”I stand against everything that my Dad wrote about Meghan Markle”.
‘FYI Emily has spoken many times about how she suffered very badly from online abuse when she was younger.’
Many also praised her bravery, with one writing: ‘An amazing statement from Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter Emily! The apple hasn’t just fallen a bit far away from the tree – it’s in the next orchard.’
Another posted: ‘She didn’t have to do this, but I have a lot of admiration for Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter calling him out on his vile comments about Meghan Markle.’
In his deplorable column, Clarkson referenced the likes of Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, and Rose West, a serial killer, claiming his hatred for Meghan leaves him ‘unable to sleep.’
The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host said that he felt ‘sorry’ for Prince Harry, who he dubbed a ‘glove puppet’, claiming that the Prince is ‘controlled by his wife.‘
‘At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, “Shame!” and throw lumps of excrement at her,’ he shockingly wrote.
The 62-year-old also alleged that ‘everyone who’s my age thinks the same way’.
