Jeremy Renner’s sister Kym released information about her brother’s recovery from a snow plough accident, saying they are ‘thrilled’ with his development.
The actor was critically injured when a seven-ton machine crushed him at his home in Lake Tahoe on New Year’s Day.
Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam has subsequently confirmed that Jeremy was assisting a family member as they sought to remove a car stuck in the snow at the time of the event.
Kym provided an update on behalf of the Marvel actor’s close family members, revealing that they were all hopeful that he would continue to make progress toward a full recovery.
Explaining he was ‘busting all the development targets’, Jermey’s sibling chatted with People on Tuesday.
‘We couldn’t be more optimistic about the road ahead,’ she told the newspaper. Anyone who knows Jeremy knows he is a fighter who does not play around.’

The Bourne Legacy star, who is celebrating his 52nd birthday in ICU, has undergone two surgeries – one to insert metal pins around his legs and the other a chest surgery – after his catastrophic accident left him in critical care.
Since his arrival at the hospital, the actor has shared personal updates with fans and followers on social media, the first of which was a selfie from his ICU bed.
Jeremy showed off the bruises on his face and penned in the caption: ‘Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all. [sic]’

Family members to the rescue, the next post came in the form of a video clip that featured his sister and mother as they gave their loved one a pamper session and offered him a relaxing scalp massage.
Alongside the sweet footage, he wrote: ‘A “not no great” ICU Day, turned to amazing spa day with my sis and mama. Thank you soooooo much[sic]’.
Jeremy celebrated his 52nd birthday at the hospital on Saturday, after sharing a photo on his Instagram story the day before.
The photo shows the actor posing with the medical team that has helped him on his rehabilitation path thus far.
‘Thank you Renowned Medical ICU team for starting this adventure,’ he typed above the heartwarming moment that included the personnel surrounding Jeremy’s bed.
