Jonnie Irwin has provided an update on his newest endeavour, and things aren’t going well.
The A Place in the Sun host, 49, has been working on a number of home improvement projects to remodel his Newcastle house in recent months.
The weather, on the other hand, has not been on his favour.
The Escape to the Country star posed for a photo on social media, refusing to let his terminal cancer diagnosis hold him back.
Jonnie captured himself working on his roof, carrying a piece of wood and charging through the rain with AirPods in his ears.
‘It seems like every time we do any roof related work it smashed down with rain!’, he quipped.
On how his wife is getting stuck in too, Jonnie added: Jess is underneath with buckets and I’m trying in vain to seal from above.’
‘Oh the joys of renovating!’, he quipped.
Jonnie’s fans responded with words of support in the comments section.
‘You never give up so keep going!’, one wrote.
Another wrote: ‘You’re smashing it fella keep going 🔥👏👏’
‘Strong as ever and extremely handsome ! Keep strong 💪’, one commented.
Jonnie has been chronicling his house improvements since the beginning, soliciting feedback from his followers and posting lots of before and after photos.
Fans have understandably been impressed by Jonnie’s work ethic, as he works tirelessly to construct a dream house for his family despite his sickness.
The TV personality confirmed his terminal cancer diagnosis in November of last year, when a lung tumour spread to his brain.
Jonnie lives in the northeast with his wife and three young sons: Rex, four, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two.
While Jess has been at his side throughout his cancer treatment, Jonnie chose not to notify his sons in order to prevent ‘confusing’ them.
Instead, Jonnie is focused on generating as many memories as he can while living out his dying moments, not knowing how long he has left.

Doctors earlier predicted that the property specialist would not survive beyond 2023, thus he has already beaten expectations.
He was present, though, when Rex reached the monumental milestone of entering primary school in September, and he had a quiet summer vacation with his brood.
In terms of his career, Jonnie has stayed busy, albeit at a considerably slower rate now that his cancer is “on the move.”
This month, he visited the A Place in the Sun live event in Birmingham, where he spoke with co-star Jasmine Harman.
Jonnie later featured on television in a pre-recorded edition of BBC’s Escape to the Country, when he travelled to Somerset to assist a retired couple in finding the right home.
The programme drew a big audience, with Jonnie expressing his surprise on Instagram.
Sharing a shot of himself with the crew on location, he wrote: ‘Just been told about the overnight viewing figures from our show on Monday; 22% audience share, 1 million viewers and slot winner!
‘Well done to all of our team on @escape_country and thanks to you so much for watching, I must admit we had a lot of fun filming this episode.’
