Katherine Ryan has attended a charity event in the wake of the revelation that she called Russell Brand a ‘predator’ in unaired footage.
The Duchess star looked glam as she arrived at the Who Cares Wins awards on Tuesday, September 19, at The Roundhouse in London.
Katherine Ryan attended a charity event following the news that she referred to Russell Brand as a ‘predator’ in previously unseen footage.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning as she arrived at The Roundhouse in London for the Who Cares Wins awards on Tuesday, September 19.
Ryan, 40, wore an asymmetric lavender shirt that showed off her toned abs, black slacks and gold shoes.
She smiled for photos on the red carpet after previous remarks against Russell Brand surfaced amid sexual assault claims.
In a collaborative investigation with The Times, Brand, 48, was accused of rape, emotional abuse, and sexual assault by numerous women in a Channel 4 special edition of Dispatches.
The Get Him to the Greek actor has rejected the charges, claiming in a YouTube video posted before the programme aired that all interactions were consensual.
Ryan is believed to have made claims against Brand while co-hosting Comedy Central’s Roast Battle in 2018.
During the programme, the panel took shots at one other, with the Canadian comic supposedly leaving the St Trinians actor “furious.”
Her remark, which was never broadcast, was reportedly: ‘I will remind you of it if any victims come out.’
Brand was only a judge for that season, and was replaced by Jonathan Ross the next year.
Roast Battle’s production firm, Fulwell 73, is said to have grown ‘uncomfortable with the stories emerging’ about Brand’s alleged actions.
Ryan revealed an anonymous ‘predator’ recognised by comedians to be working in the profession in an interview with Louis Theroux.
She admitted to calling them out, but termed her conversation with the documentarian a “litigious minefield.”
‘It’s not really my story to tell,’ she told Theroux. ‘No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me, but this person, I believe very strongly – many people believe very strongly – is an open secret, is a perpetrator of sexual assault.
‘I, in front of loads of people, in the format of the show said to this person’s face that they are a predator.’
Ryan has not verified whether her comments were about Brand and has been silent on the subject thus far.
She appeared at Davina McCall‘s Who Cares Wins awards, which reward individuals working in the health and social care sector.
The awards were established in 2017 to recognise diligent healthcare professionals and everyday individuals in the sector.
They have been shown on Channel 4 for the previous three years, in collaboration with The Sun and NHS Charities Together.
