Katie Price is said to have adopted a new puppy barely eight weeks after the loss of her beloved German Shepherd Blade.
The 45-year-old former beauty model is said to have acquired another German Shepherd, Tank, over the weekend.
It comes after she reported the loss of Blade, the seventh dog in her care, in June after being struck by a motorist.
She described herself as’shocked’ to have lost her ‘best friend’ and ‘protector,’ whom she adopted in 2019.
Following the numerous deaths, a petition has been launched by angry fans to stop the star from owning dogs, and it has so far surpassed 35,000 signatures.
A source told The Sun that the TV personality is ‘well aware’ of the feelings many have towards her about her pet ownership, and that she is keeping Tank on the ‘down low’.
‘Katie is well aware that there’s strong feelings towards her and pet ownership. The pup is still too young to leave the house, but Katie is keen to keep Tank on the down low for now,’ they said.
‘She was heartbroken after Blade’s death and is determined to keep Tank safe. In time, it could grow into her new protection dog and fill the void left by Blade.
‘Katie has always lived by her own rules and she’s adamant she’ll prove her critics wrong and give Tank a loving home.’
Just seven months before Blade died, Katie’s Pomeranian Sharon was supposedly murdered on the same route.
Sparkle, another Alsatian, died after being killed by a car after wandering out of her house into a busy road in 2020, and her companion Queenie died after being ran over by a pizza delivery van in 2018.
In 2020, her daughter Princess’s pet Rolo allegedly choked to death after being squashed in an electric recliner when left alone.
Katie was also chastised when she had to surrender her Alsatian, Bear, for harming other animals in 2019.
Following Rolo’s death, a petition was started to restrict the Mucky Mansion star from keeping pets, which has already crossed the 35,000 threshold.
According to the online petition, numerous animals have ‘died from neglect’ or gone’missing’ from Katie’s house.
Katie’s spokeswoman in 2020 stated that she is “informed” of the petition but refutes its assertions.
They said: ‘Katie is aware of this petition. It comes as a devastating blow as it is wholly biased, based on hearsay and not actual fact.
‘Katie loves her animals, to say otherwise is incorrect, unjust and unkind, it couldn’t be further from the truth.’
