Katie Price has been chastised for seeming to strike her new puppy Tank in a TikTok live video.
Katie, 45, drew an immediate outcry from stunned viewers after dog Tank joyfully played on her lap, only to be smacked.
The former glamour model attempted to keep control of the snarling dog while sharing some of her ‘bargains’ with viewers.
Katie became frustrated with his actions and moved the puppy close to her and offered him a toy, but the Alsatian continued to crave fuss and attention.
Tank could be heard snarling and was supposedly sitting on Katie’s favourite knitwear when the mother-of-five held out her palm and a smack-like noise was heard.
Peta founder Ingrid Newkirk said the actions ‘cemented’ the conclusion that Katie is ‘unfit’ to maintain dogs.
‘Short of shooting a puppy in the head on TikTok, there is almost nothing more Katie Price could do to cement the fact that she is an unfit dog guardian and an irresponsible person,’ Ingrid said in a statement.
Katie laughs at someone else in the room before saying that the home is ‘hectic’ and burying her head in her hands after the swat.
Katie rescued Tank when her dog Blade died earlier this year, and she pledged to protect him.
The adoption occurred in the midst of a petition with over 36,000 signatures calling for the TV celebrity to be barred from keeping animals owing to a history of terrible pet deaths in her care.
Blade was struck by a car in June after escaping from the star’s house in East Sussex and making his way onto the busy A24.
This incident came just seven months after Sharon, the model’s second dog, was murdered on the same busy route.
Her Alsatian Queenie was struck by a delivery vehicle the year before Sharon’s death, after being given to Katie as a birthday present by her ex Kieran Hayler.
Sparkle, another Alsatian, was murdered on the A24 in 2020, and her French Bulldog Rolo was smothered by a chair a few months later.
Rolo was bought as a present for her daughter Princess to help her cope with the death of Sparkle.
Katie and her family have previously lost two additional pets, a horse and a chameleon named Marvin.
