Kerry Katona has claimed that she would be ‘over the moon’ to become a grandmother as she prepares for ‘the next step’ of her life.
The 43-year-old TV personality and former singer is a mother of five and has stated that she is’ready’ for the day one of her elder kids informs her she is pregnant.
Kerry has two children with ex-husband and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden: Molly, 22, and Lilly-Sue, 20. The couple married in 2002 and separated in 2004.
She’s now said that if Molly or Lilly-Sue told her they’re expecting, she’d leap at the chance to be a grandmother, adding she’d ‘enjoy it’.
‘I think the next stage of my life is being a grandma and I would love it! If one of the girls turned around to me and said they were pregnant, I’d be over the moon.’
Kerry has three more children: Heidi, 16, and Max, 15, who she has with Mark Croft, and DJ, 9, who she shares with the late George Kay.
Kerry, on the other hand, has acknowledged that she is’scared’ to have children with her current boyfriend Ryan Mahoney because of her previous parenting experiences.
She told New! Magazine: ‘Ryan and I sometimes chat about kids but, honestly, everyone I’ve had a child with has left me, so that scares me.’
Ryan, however, is ‘an amazing step-dad to all [five children]’, and Kerry has conceded that she’ll never say never when it comes to having a sixth baby.
Kerry also acknowledged that the trauma of DJ’s delivery has left her feeling extremely unsure about going through the pregnant process again.
‘I nearly died when I gave birth to DJ, and that’s why I never want to be pregnant ever again. It was very traumatic and I still think about it,’ she wrote.
The former Atomic Kitten singer has stated that, while she still wants children, her most recent birthing experience has made her reconsider her options.
Kerry’s pregnancy announcement came after she showed us the results of three months of hard work last month, giving us something to talk about forever.
She shared her weight reduction to her social media followers in an effort to better her health and fitness.
Despite outrage from a limited handful of trolls, the TV personality made it plain she’s happy of ‘getting back into shape’.
‘Yes I have stretchmarks. Yes I have cellulite, but they are all signatures from my five babies that I grew inside of me,’ she wrote. ‘This was [their] home!!!’
‘We all get so hung up on what we see on social media of all these airbrush perfect bodies I’m not perfect I know that but I’m feeling good I’m feeling happy and more importantly I’m feeling healthy and I’m doing it for me and that’s all that matters!!!!’, Kerry penned passionately.
