It has been alleged that Khloe Kardashian gave her son Tatum her own surname when he was born, instead of Thompson.
The 38-year-old had her second child with Tristan Thompson through a surrogate last summer, joining their daughter True.
However, the on-off couple faced a difficult time as, around the time they started their surrogacy journey, it came out that the LA Lakers star, 32, had a secret son with Maralee Nichols.
Reports suggest that the infidelity drama led to the mom-of-two choosing to give their baby boy her own last name rather than Thompson.
An insider told TMZ that she also had a different first name in mind for Tatum, before she changed it.
The original name she reportedly picked for the little one is not known, but she revealed that they settled on Tatum on the season three premiere of the Kardashians – which aired last month.
Khloe and Tristan began dating in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, True, two years later, but their relationship broke down after the NBA athlete cheated on her during her pregnancy.
They managed to work through their problems before their romance collapsed once again when the dad-of-four later kissed Jordyn Woods on a night out.
During the pandemic, they got back together while isolating together and decided to start the process of surrogacy to have their second child – but things fell apart when it was confirmed that he had a secret baby with Maralee.
They eventually parted ways but introduced Tatum last summer, have remained close to co-parent their brood.
Sharing an update on their bond in the latest episode of the Kardashians, Khloe told mom Kris Jenner: ‘Him and I have a great friendship relationship. We get along fine and for my kids, I will put anything to the side.
‘What’s done is done so what would I still be holding on to something for? I don’t need to “punish” him because I’m not getting back with him.
‘There’s still boundaries, I definitely put my foot down around a lot of things. No one is just around here chilling if there’s no kids involved.

The mom-of-two explained the ‘boundaries’ she has established with Tristan in a confessional, and admitted that she ‘understands’ why he might think that they will eventually get back together.
‘We’ve done this song and dance a handful of times already, so these boundaries are so important to put into place with Tristan,’ Khloe said to the camera.
‘I’ve forgiven him after a cheating scandal, so maybe Tristan thinks, “Oh, wow, she’ll come around and we’ll get back together”. I see why he would think that. So it’s my responsibility to set boundaries that show otherwise.’
‘I keep it very brief and simple and I make sure he knows it’s all about the kids,’ she added. ‘I can’t let those old habits easily creep into my life. It’s just not what I want.’
