Kim Kardashian sustained a shattered shoulder and a torn tendon but is now on the mend.
In a recent social media video, the 42-year-old Skims creator said that she hasn’t been to the gym in a few weeks due to an ailment.
The mother-of-four informed followers that her stringent fitness routine has since restarted, and she’s back to working out with her trainer Melissa Alcantara.
Kim explained on Instagram: ‘I broke my shoulder and tore the tendon, so I’ve been out of the gym a few weeks but I’m back!’
She added: ‘Melissa had the same thing happen to her, so we’re starting our rehab today.’
‘Nothing’s gonna keep me down,’ Kim added.
She has yet to explain how the damage occurred.
Kim and Melissa, her long-term trainer, have been working together since 2017.
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2018 about their partnership, Melissa explained: ‘They [the Keeping Up With The Kardashians producers] were like, “Are you available to train Kim on Monday?”
‘I was like, “Of course I’m available!” And it went from there.’
The fitness guru added: ‘Kim told me, “I love my body. I love the way it looks and I love my hips”.
‘She just wanted more muscle. She wanted bigger hamstrings, which accentuates the entire leg. And she wants those cut arms and abs!’
Kim’s shocking admission comes after she treated the squad to dinner to commemorate her oldest daughter North West’s basketball championship triumph, with the party travelling to sushi restaurant Katsuya for an opulent celebration dinner.
Kim is believed to have treated the girls to ice cream and smoothies after their sushi supper.
The girls were dressed in their basketball gear, with North sporting her Nike Zoom Kobe 4 Mambacita footwear, which were launched in memory of Kobe Bryant’s daughter Gigi Bryant.
North is the eldest of the four children, while Kim and Kanye share Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four.
