Kim Kardashian has admitted that when she is irritated with her ex-husband Kanye West, she tries to put on a brave front in front of her children.
The Skims founder, 42, has four children with the All Falls Down singer, 46: North, 10, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Pslam, 4.
Kim filed for divorce in 2021 after they had been married for six years. He is now believed to have married Bianca Censori in a secret wedding in January.
Kim spoke up about her family and how she exhibits emotion in front of her children in a recent interview with Vogue Italia.
‘If it’s something concerning my kids’ dad and I’m upset, I try not to show as much emotion,’ she told the magazine.
‘I have to be ready to explain why I’m upset and it might not be appropriate for them to know.
‘There’s nothing worse than “You’ll understand when you’re older”. I don’t want to be that person.
‘But if I’m upset about other things that they can understand, I absolutely will show emotion and cry.’
Although she has pledged never to criticise him in public, she appeared to exceed her limit on the first episode of the current season of The Kardashians, which aired last month, and claimed that his activities had caused a psoriasis flare-up.
‘Even through all of the craziness, of everything Kanye says about us, I never comment. I never post. He has made up the most insane narrative about you, and the [sex] tape. We stay silent. Through all the lies, through all of the stuff,’ she said.
Becoming emotional, she continued: ‘I have to sit here and not say anything ever, because I know, one day, that my kids will appreciate that [through tears]. I know that is the best thing for them.
‘I’m the one where, s**t could be going down and I get in the car every day and the kids want to blast dad’s music, and I’m like, “He’s the best!” And I put it on and we’re singing along, and inside I’m dying.’
Kim also discussed North’s funny TikTok videos in her interview with Vogue Italia.
‘She just genuinely loves to do videos with me,’ she shared.
‘As things come up we’ll have those conversations. North does not have social media on her phone yet, she also has weeks without being on her phone and is not a dependent person on her phone. If she was, I would be a little bit more concerned.’
