Lewis Capaldi claimed that he had been waiting for a long time to appear on a certain channel, which put his tongue on fire.
The 26-year-old musician was pleased when he was approached to compete in the First We Feast Hot Ones competition programme on YouTube.
While answering a series of quick-fire questions, he fought his way through 10 progressively hot chicken wings.
The highly famous web series has a hall of fame that includes luminaries like Jake Gyllenhaal, Niall Horan, and Jennifer Lawrence, who tested some of the world’s hottest sauces in entertaining fashion.
The well-received video, titled ‘Lewis Capaldi Grasps for a Lifeline While Eating Spicy Wings,’ sees the star open up about his ‘cathartic’ creative process as he takes a break from performing his songs.
He admitted mid-chicken wing: ‘I spend most of my time hating myself while writing songs and I think that’s fine, that’s ok – it’s my process.
‘I subject to the general public, the pain of listening to my music so I feel like I should have to suffer as well while I’m writing.’
Despite his melancholy statements throughout the challenge, the singer claimed he was overjoyed to have had the opportunity to taste the sauces that eventually brought him to tears.
On his own socials in 2018, he posted about wanting to be on the programme and created a comment that described his views about the event.

Lewis said years before he appeared on the channel: ‘it is ma life long dream to be on that hot ones show on youtube [sic].’
Having achieved his goal, the singer thrilled fans who left words of praise for the hitmaker in the comment section.
One wrote on YouTube: ‘I love when the celebrity knows the show and you can tell that it’s not just for the interview. You can tell how much Lewis enjoys the show and Sean [sic].’
Another said: ‘Imagine doing an interview with Tourette’s and killing it! Love this man! Keep inspiring! [sic].’
The singer’s presence on the hot wing challenge programme comes after he declared a tour hiatus to get his ‘physical and emotional health in order’ following his Tourette’s diagnosis.
