Lewis Capaldi visited Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Wednesday and played the final voice message he sent to his new girlfriend Ellie MacDowall.
After proudly telling Amanda and Jamie: ‘Yeah, I’ve got a girlfriend,’ the 26-year-old hitmaker was asked to play the last voice note he sent Ellie, 23.
Surprisingly, the last audio message he gave his new love was a long, loud fart rather than ‘I love you’ or any other words of affection.
Clearly shocked after Lewis played the message, Jamie, 52, remarked: ‘I feel like we put all this work into your love life and now you’re just…’
Meanwhile, Amanda, also 52, couldn’t stop laughing as Lewis said on air: ‘You’ve got to love me for me. Warts and all.’
As for what Ellie said when she received the message, Lewis explained: ‘She just said, “I didn’t understand what it was at first…did you send s*** like that to your exes?”’
It’s not the first time Lewis has revealed details about his new romance.
Earlier this month, the award-winning crooner told Radio 2’s Scott Mills: ‘I have a girlfriend and that’s going really well.
‘I am a happy chappy, she’s a lovely lady. I feel good about everything.’
Lewis was originally linked to actress Ellie in December, and the couple was subsequently photographed kissing in the Brit Awards crowd in February before heading to an afterparty together.
An onlooker at the party, held at 180 The Strand, told the Sun at the time: ‘It’s official, Lewis is in love and he couldn’t be happier.
‘He has been dating Ellie for some time now and while they are usually very low key, he couldn’t keep his hands off her at the after-party.
‘It was very sweet to see him so happy, and Ellie clearly adores him too.’
Listen to Jamie and Amanda on Heart weekdays from 6:30am.
