When celebrating her girlfriend 070 Shake’s 26th birthday, actress Lily-Rose Depp made a bold remark.
Lily-Rose, who seemed unfazed by the uproar surrounding her new programme The Idol, uploaded a series of adorable photos on her girlfriend’s birthday.
Shake, real name Danielle Balbuena, and the 24-year-old have been dating since February of this year, when they were first seen kissing during Paris Fashion Week.
Lily acknowledged the connection in a post last month, calling Shake her ‘crush’ but has now moved things up by naming the rapper the ‘love of my life’.
Shake is well recognised for her appearance on Raye’s hit Escapism and her collaboration with Kanye West on his album Ye.
She captioned a cheeky mirror photo of them together, with the flash over Shake’s face, ‘Happy Birthday love of my life.’
This was followed by a photo of the couple backstage, with Shake smoking a cigarette while Lily leans in for a hug, and another of the rapper leaning on Lily’s feet.
Lily kissed Shake on the cheek in the end, with the words ‘te ami Dani’ inscribed on the side.
Although she prefers to keep her romances discreet, The Idol star had previously been connected to Timothée Chalamet when the two were photographed kissing on a boat.
The couple split up in 2020, and she was later photographed dating rapper Yassine Stein in 2021; while no break-up was ever made public, the two did unfollow one other on social media.
She reportedly informed Drew Barrymore that “the virtue of privacy” was “instilled” in her at a young age.
After the uproar over her new programme The Idol, which has been blasted by reviewers, Lily is probably relishing the emphasis being on her girlfriend for the day.
As a rising teenage pop star, Lily’s character Jocelyn begins dating Tedros, the head of a modern-day cult played by The Weeknd.
Despite superficial similarities, Lily and Jocelyn insisted on a ‘very distinct’ upbringing with a’sense of normalcy’ to keep her grounded.
Some have accused The Idol of being “torture porn” and have criticised the show’s over-sexualization, particularly with regard to Jocelyn.
It appears that Johnny Depp stands by his daughter’s acting choices as an insider told Mail Online: ‘He believes that she must be doing something right since the role is getting so much attention, and he is proud of her success.’
