
Madonna has cancelled her tour after becoming very unwell.
The chart-topper has been in critical care since suffering from a “serious bacterial illness.”
She got the virus on June 24, and although though her health is ‘improving,’ she is still ‘under medical care.’
The performer, 64, is expected to recover fully, but her scheduled tour has been cancelled.
Her manager confirmed the news in a statement, writing: ‘On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU.
‘Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
‘At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
‘We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.
A source told Page Six that the star hd been found ‘unresponsive’ and rushed to hospital, where she was intubated for at least one night, but is now alert and recovering.
Lourdes Leon, her 26-year-old daughter, was allegedly by her side throughout the trauma.
Madonna is also the mother of Rocco, 22, David, 17, Mercy, 17, and Stella and Estere, 10 years old.
The famous artist’s Celebration tour was scheduled to begin in July, beginning in Canada.
She was then scheduled to perform many nights in London in October and December, as well as appearances in Europe and North America.
It comes only days after the singer released Vulgar, a duet with Britain’s Sam Smith, 31, that has soared up the charts.
Madonna has been one of the greatest names in music since her debut album in 1983, and she has gone on to produce megahits such as Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer, and Hung Up.
Celebrating her remarkable career, Madonna urged her fans to “join the party” in January when she launched the Madonna Celebration Tour in a unique video accompanied by superstars such as Jack Black and Amy Schumer.
The Celebration Tour is the pop legend’s first tour since she celebrated four decades in the entertainment profession.
