Put your pumpkins away because Mariah Carey has officially announced that it is Christmas time.
The 54-year-old has recently kept us on our toes by using the hashtag #NotYet on every Instagram photo leading up to November 1.
But as the clock struck midnight at the start of the month, signalling the end of Halloween and the frightening season, she rejoiced in the most Mariah way imaginable.
A clock ticked from 11.59pm on October 31 to midnight on November 1 in a new film published on social media, with a vault opening to show the music icon trapped in a block of ice.
As the mom-of-two began to thaw, eerie creatures such as Ghostface from Scream were spotted using hairdryers to dissolve the block.
She then said, ‘It’s time,’ prompting the remainder of the room to shatter as All I Want For Christmas played over the top and decorations sprang from all sides – with her daughters, Monroe and Moroccan, joining in on the fun.
Alongside the iconic video, Mariah penned: ‘It’s…… TIME!!! #MariahSZN.’
Well, she’s never one to do things by halves…
‘November 1st should be a public holiday at this point in honor of Mariah’s annual announcement,’ a follower suggested.
Another agreed: ‘Mariah is officially defrosted now! Although true lambs know she doesn’t need to be defrosted with her amazing full catalogue’
One cheered: ‘The joy this brings me every year. I love you Mariah!!!!’
‘This is as iconic as the NYE ball drop! You are thee moment!,’ an Instagram user penned.
As a commenter added: ‘Not only she’s queen of Christmas, but she’s slowly stealing Halloween!’
Heidi Klum could have something to say about that…
Mariah is as much a winter institution as crackers, turkey, mulled wine, and tinsel, with All I Want For Christmas rocketing up the charts year after year.
Last December, the song broke Spotify’s record for the most plays in a single day on the streaming site after being played 21,273,000 times in only 24 hours on Christmas Eve.
We’ve already got it on repeat – Happy Mariah Season.
