According to reports, Matthew McConaughey was given a restraining order against a lady who believed they were in a relationship.
In prior legal filings, the Gold actor, 53, stated that his claimed stalker had inundated him with ‘unhinged letters, emails, and bogus lawsuits meant to trap me into court’ since April 2022.
According to reports, the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actor got increasingly concerned when he realised the lady had purchased a ticket to his book signing event in Los Angeles, hundreds of miles away from her home.
McConaughey requested the restraining order because his wife Camila Alves and his three children, Levi, 15, Livingston, 10, and Vida, 13, were scheduled to attend the event and he was concerned about their safety.
According to court records acquired by The Blast, the Interstellar star reportedly claimed the lady wrote a ‘threatening email’ to the bookstore hosting the signing.
‘She has purchased tickets to attend promotional events I am scheduled to appear at the week of 9/11/23. She is delusional and poses a threat to all that attend,’ McConaughey continued.
During a court hearing on Thursday, a judge imposed the restraining order and barred the accused stalker from approaching Mud actor for five years, according to the magazine.
According to reports, McConaughey and his attorney Michael Aaron Goldstein attended the hearing, but the lady did not.
It comes after McConaughey said that fellow actor Woody Harrelson, who co-starred with him in True Detective, was his brother.
According to the Dallas Buyers Club star, their family frequently confused the best friends in pictures and urged they both take DNA testing.
Woody hinted on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert about the stunning discovery, saying, ‘Well, I’ll just say there is some voracity to that thought.’
He added: ‘We were in Greece, we were watching the US team win the World Cup. I mentioned something about regrets, and I said, “ah, it’s odd that my father had no regrets.”
“I’ve known Mom Mc [Matthew’s mother] a long time, and she goes: ‘I knew… your father…’
‘It was the ellipsis I found a little troubling, or interesting,’ Woody added.
