Maya Jama completely owned one of her internet detractors this evening.
The Love Island presenter, 29, strode into the villa on February 11, looking ferocious as usual in a tight blue dress, her hair slicked back, and resembling a sparkling showbiz mermaid.
However, as we all know, not everyone has positive things to say about women on television.
One fan turned to X, likely unaware that the lady herself would read their post, and blasted at her presence on tonight’s episode of the ITV dating programme, which is making its All Stars premiere.
It appears Maya is done with being ‘polite’ to people commenting on her appearance, as she hit back at the insult, which suggested the star’s hair looked as though it had emerged ‘straight out the shower’.
While watching Love Island All Stars, the X, formerly Twitter, user wrote: ‘Did Maya not have time to do her hair tonight or is that the look? It’s giving straight out the shower.’
In response, Maya went in on the commentator as she wrote: ‘I’ve been very polite on public opinions on my looks but Casey, it’s called a wet look.. not sure why that’s a surprising look for you but if you don’t know then it’s on you babe.’
She officially dropped the microphone, people.
This is a rare reply from the presenter, who is usually as cool as a cucumber in the face of online trolling.
This comes after Maya enjoyed her second ever Vogue cover shoot earlier this month.
Marking the special moment, Maya took to the social platform and wrote: ‘What a way to start 2024.
‘My 2nd Vogue cover & it is the most iconic s**t I’ve ever been a part of.
‘To spend the day with the most inspiring, incredible & powerful women I’ve looked up to forever doesn’t even feel real, it was a fever dream from the second I got to the shoot.’
Maya has been filming Love Island All Stars in Cape Town, South Africa and is supposedly not permitted to travel home due to worries over the show’s carbon footprint.
If that’s the case, she’ll miss her lover Stormzy, who rejoined recently to the pleasure of fans.
Maya and the Vossi Pop musician, 30, resumed their romance this summer after parting in 2019.
They appear to be going strong ever since, having shared a slew of romantic photos in recent months.
