Millie Bobby Brown has turned 19, and the Stranger Things star has started her final year as a teen with a bang.
Millie revealed a glimpse of her birthday celebrations on Sunday, uploading a photo of herself dancing the night away in Los Angeles.
In an action image uploaded with her 61.9 million Instagram followers at the conclusion of the weekend, the actress could be seen extending her hands to the ceiling while wearing a gem-studded bralet and miniskirt.
‘Howdy 19,’ she captioned her image.
Millie was swamped with birthday greetings, with thousands of good wishes piling up beneath her amusing photo.
At the juvenile age of 12, the British actress landed the role of Eleven in Stranger Things, which also starred Winona Ryder, quickly becoming a household name.
Millie’s co-star Matthew Modine claimed in a recent interview that he went to considerable efforts to safeguard her from being ‘destroyed’ by fame.
‘[I was] trying to be protective of her,’ Matthew, who portrays Dr Martin Brenner in Netflix’s smash sci-fi series, said of working with Millie on the project. How the business has evolved since you saw me in Birdy to now… if a movie is popular in 20 or 30 countries around the world, it is a huge success.’
‘Netflix is available in over 190 countries,’ the 63-year-old actor noted. Thus Millie was subjected to worldwide conditions. What she was exposed to – as were all the youngsters on this programme – was a level of celebrity, popularity, and infamy that had never existed in the entertainment world. ‘During my career, there have been young actors and actresses whose lives have been wrecked by that type of fame, money, and everything. It has the potential to be extremely damaging and unsettling.’
‘I simply wanted to make sure she was secure and she realised that a profession is a rollercoaster, that there are ups and downs to it,’ he said on Jonathan Ross‘ talk programme.
Millie has gone on to appear in films such as the Sherlock Holmes spin-off Enola Holmes and Godzilla: King of Monsters, confirming herself as one of the world’s most brilliant young talents.
