Olivia Jade Giannulli has sparked outrage among her fans after comparing her enormous home kitchen to a ‘prison’, three years after her mother was freed from jail.
The 24-year-old YouTuber and influencer, who is evidently not single after erroneous allegations that she had separated from boyfriend Jacob Elordi, published her first new video in over a month on Wednesday.
In the video, she takes viewers on a tour of her home while discussing her different intentions to tidy it up – but it appears that her words haven’t gone down well with admirers.
Her kitchen, with two worktops, calm lighting, a separate eating room, and a well stocked fridge, reminded her of a jail.
‘Back in the kitchen. Sorry for the mess that’s behind me — the kitchen needs a clean. I’m so excited, you guys, I finally ordered wallpaper for the kitchen so it’s not going to feel so sterile,’ she began.

She then said: ‘It’s not going to feel like a prison.’
After preemptively telling her viewers not to make jokes about her own mother’s three-year prison sentence, she quickly moved on to discuss the meal she’d prepared for dinner later that day.
Olivia Jade’s mother, Full House actress Lori Laughlin, 59, and father, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, 60, were sentenced to two and five months in jail, respectively, following a 2019 fraud case concerning college admissions.
The legal case was later dubbed the ‘Varsity Blues scandal’.
But, because people are people, the ‘prison’ comparison invited some savage replies: ‘I’m surprised that you even go shopping or cook for yourself when mummy can just pay other people to do that for you, like she does with your education and career.’
‘Ya, the prison “joke” was going too far Olivia, wtf?’ a second user commented underneath the video, with another remarking: ‘It is unbelievable that you would make a prison comment – you clearly learned nothing.’
However, other viewers took much more kindly to the joke, saying: ‘Ok, the prison joke absolutely killed me, it’s fun seeing that side of you.’
Another commented, ‘[the prison joke] cracked me up,’ while yet another teased: ‘The prison joke was too good’.
Lori later appeared in the video as the two pondered where to park during a shopping excursion, ultimately opting to ‘risk it for a biscuit’ and stay in a bay that only permitted consumers to stop for 20 minutes.
In brighter news for Olivia Jade, it appears that the current allegations about her connection with Saltburn and Priscilla actor Jacob Elordi are false.
The couple is supposed to have been together for three years, but their relationship appeared to be coming to an end early this year when Us Weekly revealed that they were no more.
However, insiders have told Entertainment Tonight and TMZ that the two are still in love and have been spending time together in New York City, notably at the Rockefeller Studios, where Saturday Night Live is taped.
Jacob will make his SNL presenting debut on January 20.
