Congratulations are in order for Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, as he and his wife are parents!
The bassist – real name Michael Peter Balzary – and Melody Ehsani, 42, welcomed their first child together on December 12, making the 60-year-old musician a dad to three.
Flear already shares 34-year-old Clara Balzary with ex-wife Loesha Zeviar, and 17-year-old Sunny Bebop Balzary with model Frankie Rayder.
Speaking at the premiere of his new film Babylon, he shared his happy news.
‘I’m very happy,’ he told E! News.
Flea joked: ‘I haven’t been doing a lot of sleeping.
‘But I’ve been doing a lot of floating on a cloud of love.’
People magazine also quoted him saying last week ahead of their arrival: ‘I love being a dad, and I can’t even believe that I’m about to have another baby.’
The musician married fashion designer Melody in 2019, in a Los Angeles ceremony one month after their engagement.
Sharing a gushing tribute to his second wife after tying the knot, Flea wrote on Instagram: ‘My life has changed forever and I am eternally humble and grateful.
‘The person who sees all of me and knows who I am. My wife.’
Meanwhile, Melody wrote: ‘This weekend I got to marry my best friend. Surely, my best collaboration to date…you’re my whole heart’.
Then, in July this year, the lovebirds announced that they were expecting their first child.
‘I’ve put on a couple pounds 😅’, she joked on social media, alongside a snap of her growing bump.
