Rylan Clark celebrated his birthday with a surprise visit from his mother, who had suffered a serious fall while on vacation.
Last month, the TV host disclosed that his mother, Linda, 71, had been hospitalised in Spain after falling.
They were on their first abroad vacation in a decade when she fell and shattered both her leg and arm.
Rylan took some time off work to care for his mother after she had surgery, and she is now on the mend.
Now, as the former The X Factor and Big Brother contestant celebrated his 35th birthday, he offered an update on his mother’s health as she participated in the fun.
Sharing a photo of Linda smiling while sitting in his living room, Rylan commented the post: ‘For the first time in 2 months she’s managed to come round. Best birthday present.’
However he didn’t miss his chance to throw some subtle shade at his mum, adding: ‘Don’t make a habit of it tho dorrrlliiinnn.’
Rylan stated his mother was back in the hospital for rehabilitation a few weeks after returning to the UK.
Linda could be seen seated in a wheelchair with a cast on one arm and one of her legs hanging over the footrest in a video posted on a ward.
She was then shown ascending in a lift while laughing and smiling at the camera, with her son poking fun at her once more.
You Raise Me Up provided the soundtrack for the video, and he captioned it, ‘Early morning hospital bants.’
Linda appears on Rylan’s radio show and Celebrity Gogglebox on a regular basis.
Rylan came back in with his mother after his six-year marriage to Dan Neal ended.
