Sam went by The People Gallery TikTok to discuss their style, displaying their rather characteristic black platform boots.

Despite 1.2 million likes on the video, Sam’s attire failed to please, with viewers comparing it to a hairdresser’s cape.

An abaya is a robe-like dress worn predominantly by Muslim women, as user Sumiii joked: ‘We love to see Sam smith in abaya!’
Along with the barber and abaya remarks, there were references to Voldemort from Harry Potter and Dune’s Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.
The Rick Owens garment looks to be the Lido Runway Tabard Gown in black, which costs €2,690 (£2,312).
Despite the audience’s scepticism, Maurice complimented Sam’s appearance as ‘wonderful’ throughout the brief interview.
The Stay With Me hitmaker was asked for a styling tip and replied: ‘Every day start again. That’s what I do personally.’
They praised both Rick Owens and Vivienne Westwood as fashion inspirations currently and added: ‘I never thought Vivienne Westwood clothes were for me and then recently I just can’t stop wearing Westwood. I love it!’
