Snoop Dogg and David Beckham have known each other for over 30 years and have a great friendship.
The veteran rapper, 51, and former England hero, 47, were seen together this week when David accompanied his boys Romeo and Cruz to Snoop’s concert at London’s O2 venue.
Backstage, the duo seemed as thick as thieves, with their arms around each other, and the rapper has now revealed that’s because, well, they are.
In an interview with the Mail Online this week, the Drop It Like It’s Hot singer reflected on his and David’s lifelong acquaintance, saying they had a ‘natural attraction.’
He said: ‘We’ve been friends since the early nineties. We love the same things.’
He compares Snoop and David because they ‘love’ to win, work hard, are family man, and ‘people adore us.’
‘We’re naturally attracted to each other,’ he went on, saying their friendship was established ‘years and years ago.’
‘He created a family, and I created a family.’
Their connection was previously chronicled in an episode of Snoop’s reality programme Father Hood, in which David sought – unsuccessfully – to encourage the rapper’s kids to like football.
Snoop couldn’t believe how big David’s kids had grown, recalling them from when they were’real little infants.’
Snoop’s own children are also grown, with the rapper becoming a grandpa for the first time in 2015, which he claims caused him to reduce his cannabis consumption.
This Monday, the rapper performed in front of 20,000 people at London’s O2 Arena, leaving fans in stitches as he sang his famous Just Eat campaign jingle in full.
He had arrived in Glasgow a few days previously to begin the UK leg of the tour, and was welcomed by airport personnel who gave him a really warm welcome, played his iconic song Still Dre on the bagpipes.
Snoop’s massive tour commemorates his extraordinary 25-year career, which has included significant singles such as What’s My Name?, Beautiful, and Still A G Thang.
