When Mel C states that she still has hope for a true Spice Girls reunion with Victoria Beckham at some point in the future, she speaks for all of us.
Since it has been quite some time since Posh Spice performed on stage alongside the other members of the group, Melanie C and Melanie Brown, Geri Horner, and Emma Bunton started their stadium tour in 2019 without her.
But it’s safe to say that the hope that they would one day get back together as five spices is still alive and well for the time being.
Mel C, who is 48 years old, stated that the band had a “amazing time” on the tour that took place three years ago, and that they are eager to get back together as a quintet.
She told The Times the other Spice Girls are ‘keen to get back on stage’ for another reunion but need to navigate ‘everybody’s life, work, families’.
Asked about fashion designer Victoria, 48, Mel C – full name Melanie Chisholm – replied: ‘That would be the ultimate dream.
‘The door is always open for Victoria, we would love to see her back. We keep our fingers crossed.’
And the Northern Star hitmaker admitted the group would particularly love to perform at Glastonbury festival.
‘Glastonbury is so magical, and it’s the ultimate British festival without a doubt,’ she said.
‘One day a Spice Girls performance there would be a great thing. We would love to grace that stage.’
VB gave her final performance with the Spice Girls at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012, where she and the other members of the group danced atop of decked-out taxis.
With the release of their singles “2 Become 1” in 1996, “Too Much” in 1997, and “Goodbye” in 1998, the Spice Girls became the first band since The Beatles to achieve three consecutive number one Christmas singles in the late 1990s. The group recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, which was earlier this year.
It was claimed earlier this year that Victoria has reunited with her fellow Spice Girls in order to make a new documentary with them, although it is possible that she is not yet ready to perform with them again on the mic.
The docuseries will be directed by the same team that was responsible for Netflix’s Michael Jordan series The Last Dance, which was nominated for an Emmy.
‘The director and the whole concept of how that was shot and filmed is really, really, really good. So we’ll be doing our own version with them,’ Mel B said during an appearance on Australian TV.
During the documentary, the singers will all revealing new unheard takes from their heyday as the biggest band on the planet.
