Shane MacGowan, lead singer of The Pogues, has sent a heartfelt letter from the hospital.
Shane, 65, has spent the last year seeking therapy for a variety of health conditions.
He was hospitalised last Christmas with encephalitis, a rare, life-threatening brain illness that caused his brain to enlarge.
Shane was then readmitted to the hospital in June of this year. The cause for this is unknown, however he is said to be in intensive care.
Victoria Mary Clarke, Shane’s wife, has been sending updates on his behalf in recent months.
She recently shared a nice, happy snapshot of Shane resting in his bed.

The Fairytale of New York hitmaker, who was wearing a medical gown and a cross around his neck, gazed up at the camera.
Victoria’s tweet read: ‘Shane is praying for peace and love for everyone in the world’.
Fans interpreted the statement as referring to the ongoing conflict following Hamas’ onslaught on Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of deaths.
In response to the post, Victoria’s fans wanted to give their well wishes to her spouse.
‘You’re a good man Shane’, one wrote.
‘Wishing Shane much peace and love back’, said another.
‘Thoughts and much love to you shane and all your family and friends. Amazing musician and person. Praying for health and happiness for you all’, one added.
Victoria’s last internet update on Shane’s health was on October 3.
Along with a photo of him, she conveyed her happiness that he was having a wonderful day.
‘Feeling really really grateful that @ShaneMacGowan is looking so bright today!’, she began sweetly. ‘And we as determined as ever to get home!’
Victoria added: ‘Thank you a million times to all of the doctors and nurses and all of the staff and everyone who is visiting him!’
