Exclusive minifigures of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are included in the first Lego set based on a real band.
There have been Lego sets based on everything from classical artwork to Star Wars spaceships, but recreating BTS‘s Dynamite music video is a first.
It’s part of the Lego Ideas range, which features models created by fans and then voted on. When a set receives above 10,000 votes, Lego considers it for an actual set, and the original inventors receive a part of the revenues.
BTS fans assured that this one was chosen, and the outcome is not just seven special minifigures, but also the set from the video, which includes the doughnut shop, ice cream truck, and record store.
Josh, 20, from Indian, and Jacob, 21, from New York created the model. ‘Josh conducted the construction and design work, and being a huge BTS fan, I informed him what needed to be in it and what elements were most essential,’ Jacob explains.
‘Jacob had BTS expertise and was able to lead my construction properly,’ Josh agrees. ‘I watched the music video over and over again, attempting to encapsulate its soul in Lego bricks. It was incredible how quickly the project got popular online.’

The set has 749 pieces and is 38cm long and 14cm wide, but all of the different buildings can be separated and rearranged whatever you like, so you don’t have to have the set-up seen in the photographs.
It costs £89.99, which is inevitable given the number of minifigures included. It does not yet have a specific release date, but it will be available in early March at Lego shops and on the official Lego website.
