Tyler Perry has contributed a large money to aid older folks who are struggling financially.
Pensioners’ property taxes have increased since the inauguration of the 53-year-old actor’s successful film studio in Atlanta.
So, in an effort to address the situation he helped to create, Tyler has chipped in the difference, ensuring that the older residents would not have to leave their homes.
According to sources, the film mogul is contributing $750,000 (£62.5k) this year since the value of the property surrounding Tyler Perry Studios has soared and longstanding inhabitants on a limited income have been forced to leave.
Tyler, according to TMZ, recently reached out to Atlanta major Andre Dickens to express his want to assist.
According to the publication, his hefty gift would ‘perform a variety of wonderful things in the community,’ including wiping off all overdue property taxes for every low-income senior in Atlanta.
This covers over 300 residences, although Tyler is ranked third on Forbes’ list of highest-paid celebrities, reportedly earning $175 million (£145 million) last year alone.
According to sources, the star’s money will ‘essentially freeze property taxes for 100 low-income seniors for the next 20 years,’ with the money ‘paying the difference between current property taxes and property tax rises over the following two decades.’
Of course, this isn’t the first time Tyler has been described as a good egg.
After appearing in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Netflix documentary series, it became clear how vital he was while they were not doing Royal responsibilities.
The pair stayed in one of his California houses since he was one of the first celebrities to embrace the couple when they received widespread criticism for their choice to leave the UK.
‘It was a really terrible moment for them, and what I know about the two of them, that I wish the world knew, is how much they love,’ the Madea director said later, recalling how he raced in to support Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41.
‘These two folks adore one another. They discovered each other. Despite all of the chances against them finding each other, they did.
‘The love they have is very, very emotional, and I simply wanted to do whatever I could to help them.’
Continuing to voice his admiration for the couple’s connection, he expressed his want for a similar love in the future, saying, ‘If I don’t have it, what she and Harry have, I don’t want it – that’s truly fantastic.’
