Vanessa Feltz has said that her breakup with Ben Ofoedu left her “broken and hurt.”
The 61-year-old TV host broke up with her 17-year-long partner in February after it came out that he had cheated on her more than once.
The host of This Morning has been open about her sadness and how much it has changed her. She was engaged to the 50-year-old Phats & Small singer.
Vanessa has talked about how the breakup affected her before she goes back on the dating scene on Celebs Go Dating with stars like Chloe Burrows from Love Island.
She said: ‘As everyone knows, I had a very bad and broken heart and it was horrible.
‘People think I’ve been amazingly brave, but really on the inside, I just feel as awful as anybody else would.’
The mum-of-two went on: ‘I’ve been so hurt, crushed and dismayed and worried about the future.’
Talking about finding her ‘dream man’ on the reality dating series, Vanessa added to The Mirror: ‘I’ve been so hurt, crushed and dismayed and worried about the future.
‘I will continue to believe that there are good people out there who mean what they say and say what they mean. I hope I’m not naïve and stupid by being optimistic.’
She also said that she doesn’t “like being single,” but that it’s been “daunting” to put herself out there.
She said: ‘I’m putting myself on the path of rejection, when I already feel very damaged and wounded.’
This happened after Vanessa posted a clip to social media about how nervous she was on her way to the first date.
‘Oh em ge,’ she began, relatable as ever.
‘Going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven’t been on a date for 17 years so just imagine how I’m feeling.
‘I can’t even find the words to describe it and I’m good at words, so I don’t know.
‘But that is where I’m going this morning and I’m wishing you all a lovely, lovely Friday.’
Celebs Go Dating returns to E4 soon.
