Vanessa Feltz is about to embark on her first date in over two decades, and she’s understandably nervous.
The 61-year-old TV host divorced her long-term boyfriend, Ben Ofoedu, in February after it was revealed that he had cheated on her many times.
It was a big change for the This Morning host, who had been engaged to the 50-year-old Phats & Small musician for sixteen years.
The TalkTV personality has previously expressed her ‘agony’ about the affair, saying her heart was’split into a million pieces’ by the treachery.
Vanessa is now attempting to move on, having just signed up for the upcoming series of popular dating programme Celebs Go Dating, with Lottie Moss and Love Island‘s Chloe Burrows.
Vanessa uploaded a self-portrait video from the back of a cab as she was taken across London to her first date on the programme yesterday.
Vanessa is not only attending her first Celebs Go Dating event, but she is also going on her first date in 17 years. Gulp!
Anyone would be concerned in such scenario, and Vanessa surely was, as she recalled being at a loss for words with anxiety.
‘Oh em ge,’ she began, relatable as ever.
‘Going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven’t been on a date for 17 years so just imagine how I’m feeling.
‘I can’t even find the words to describe it and I’m good at words, so I don’t know.
‘But that is where I’m going this morning and I’m wishing you all a lovely, lovely Friday.’
Vanessa looked fabulous for the big date in some massive white-rimmed round glasses, with frames big enough to read: ‘L’amour Paris et London.’
For the morning date, the actress donned a stretchy floral pink and white off-the-shoulder shirt.
The popular TV star was flooded with support from fellow stars, with Alan Carr commenting: ‘Good Luck!!! ❤️’
Meanwhile, Ruth Langsford wrote: ‘Just be fabulous you! ❤️’
Trisha Goddard also commented on the video with a conversation starter idea, as she said: ‘Good luck… your wonderful collection of sunglasses would be a great opening topic!🤣❤️’
Leigh Francis – the man behind Keith Lemon – also wished Vanessa luck, while Denise Van Outen said: ‘How exciting! ❤️😍’
Vanessa’s daughter Allegra discovered the adultery on Christmas Day after receiving an anonymous Instagram post that was also ‘abusive’.
Ben and Vanessa parted up immediately after she decided to notify her mother.
