The latest instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise is here with Harrison Ford returning to crack the whip for the final time.
Disney unveiled the trailer for the fifth film in the series that showed the fedora-wearing character gearing up to take on more adventures.
Keeping the actual Dial of Destiny under wraps, the sneak-peak was jam-packed full of clues as to what the explorer’s next mission would entail.
The snippet brought back some familiar faces to the much-loved action franchise and promised many tear-jerking scenes as the production said an emotional farewell to legacy characters.
Revealing there will be a new generation ready to take up the torch, fans have tipped this film to be the first true Indiana-style adventure since 1989’s flick Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
When is the fifth film set to air?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will be released in cinemas June 30 2023 as confirmed by Lucasfilm following changes to its original plan.
Tipped to have been one of 2019’s big blockbusters, the film’s production faced a string of setbacks due to changing of writers and directors, Covid and a shoulder injury that prevented Harrison from appearing on set.
Who will be returning for Harrison’s last hurrah?
Back in the hat for the last time, Harrison will remain in the titular role of Indiana Jones but he won’t be the only familiar face to grace the silver screen once more.
The initial trailer that was shown at the D23 Disney expo confirmed John Rhys-Davies’s return as Sallah for the first time since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

At that same expo fans’ questions over whether this could be the beginning of a Harrison Indiana reprise were answered when he said: ‘This is it. I will not fall down for you again.’
Phoebe Waller-Bridge will take on the position as leading lady with Mads Mikkelsen and Black Panther’s Shaunette Renée Wilson featured alongside her.
While their roles still remain a bit of a mystery, Antonio Banderas and Toby Jones were also revealed in the trailer.
What will the Dial of Destiny be about?
Cast and crew have sealed lips on most details surrounding the film’s plot with even the teaser leaving much to the imagination.
Despite the lack of any concrete plotlines, a filming video did leak some information about what Indy will be getting up to.
It appears the explorer will go head-to-head with Nazis again in the fifth movie but it is not clear if this will be in the form of a flashback sequence or whether they’ll be front and centre as the film’s main villains.
Alongside the filming footage, a set picture has hinted at some time travel too.
As an overview, the story follows on from the Crystal Skull and features an older Dr Jones which Harrison assured would be worth the wait at D23.
He said: ‘I’m very proud to say this one is fantastic.
‘Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they’re also about heart. We have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass.’
