Zoe Ball’s return date to Radio 2 looks to have been disclosed, which should soothe BBC fans.
The 53-year-old host has raised concerns over her absence from her Breakfast Show, which she has not appeared on since August 8.
Zoe had taken some time off in August after a brief hiatus for her late mother’s birthday, who died in April, barely 12 weeks after a cancer diagnosis.
However, a few days after Zoe’s scheduled return on August 5, replacements were brought in to cover her 6.30am slot.
In the weeks since, Gaby Roslin and Scott Mills have taken charge, although Zoe has failed to address her absence.
However, it appears that she may be able to return as soon as next week.
When is Zoe Ball coming back to BBC Radio 2?
According to the BBC’s schedule, Zoe will host on Monday, September 23, with her Maximum Music Monday show.
The summary of the three-hour episode says: ‘Wake up and embrace the day with Zoe Ball and the team. Zoe keeps the tunes rolling on Maximum Music Monday.’
The BBC also confirmed: ‘Zoe will return to the Radio 2 Breakfast Show later this month.’
On August 12, Scott addressed fans’ concerns by announcing that he would be taking up hosting duties and sending ‘all his love’ to Zoe.
‘If you set your alarm every morning to go off at 6:30am and normally Zoe comes on, please do not freak out. You have not overslept,’ he said.
‘If you’ve just put us on this morning, it’s Scott Mills in for Zoe for the next few weeks. I’m sending you all my love Zo, as are the team.’
One source meanwhile told the Daily Mail that ‘nobody knows what has happened’.
‘Nobody knows what has happened but everyone loves Zoe,’ they said.
‘We hope everything is okay. Zoe is so loved at the BBC so to not have her around is really noticeable.’
