Zac Efron’s looks has been the target of cruel abuse.
The 36-year-old actor participated in a new round of publicity for his next wrestling flick The Iron Claw, and photographs and videos from his new photoshoot and interview went viral.
Zac, who revealed last year that he’d cracked his jaw in a horrific accident, starred in the next film starring Jeremy Allen White and featured alongside The Bear actor in the new interviews.
The Iron Claw delves into the lives of pro wrestler Kevin Von Erich and his problematic family.
Zac, Jeremy, 32, and their co-star Harris Dickinson spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Sean Durkin’s new A24 biopic and snippets of the chat were shared widely across the outlet’s social media channels.
Disgustingly mean comments started to gather beneath the footage, with one person writing: ‘The plastic surgeon who did this to him should be in jail.’
Another person added: ‘My dude looks strange af,’ and someone else said, ‘His facial proportions are askew.’
Other remarks included: ‘What happened to his face tho?’ and ‘He really looks like Lord Farquaad [from Shrek].’
The High School Musical star had to have surgery after slipping on a sock and smacking his face into a granite fountain.
Speaking of the severity of the situation, he previously told ET: ‘It was funny. It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.’
The actor reportedly stated that the attack knocked him unconscious and that when he awoke, his chin bone was “hanging off his face.”
Speaking to Men’s Health magazine, he shared: ‘The masseters [muscles in his jaw] just grew. They just got really, really big.’
Zac also stated that he had no idea people assumed he’d had plastic surgery until his mother called and inquired whether he had.
