Zayn Malik claims his two-year-old daughter Khai has restored “colour” to his life.
The ex-One Directioner, 30, has a child with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, 28, from whom he divorced in October 2021.
The adoring father has now shared a unique look into how parenting has affected him.
In his first interview in six years, Zayn said of Khai: ‘Since I’ve had my daughter the main thing in my life is trying to be a good example to her.
‘That’s why I’m even doing this interview.’
He added on the Call Her Daddy podcast: ‘I used to get a lot of anxiety around doing a conversation like this but I want her to be able to look at me and say, “My dad’s doing this”.
‘I keep being told I’m telling dad jokes and I’m leaning into it it’s okay, it’s cool.’
Zayn added: ‘People just look at me like I’m a weirdo and I’m like, “Well, I’m a dad now so I’m allowed to tell these jokes!”
‘I think we all get to a certain point in adult life where everything sort of seems vague and grey and boring and she’s brought that colour back to my life for me.’
In other parts of his interview with Alex Cooper, which will be released in its full on Wednesday, the singer discusses the impact worldwide stardom had on him after joining One Direction with bandmates Louis Tomlinson, 31, and Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan, all 29.
His sit-down interview comes just days after Zayn revealed a brand-new music video, which sent his fans into a frenzy.
He deleted his Instagram account last month before releasing a video of himself seated on a motorbike and revving the engine before his helmet visor snapped shut.
A link emerged on his Instagram profile as well, leading to a website where fans could ‘presave’ his songs on Spotify and Apple songs.
Excited, much?
