The much-anticipated collaboration between Sam Smith and Madonna, titled “Vulgar,” has finally been disclosed.
The high-charting vocalists surprised their fans by releasing a cryptic video clip on social media, finally putting to rest speculation about a song from the famed pair.
Both stars broke the news on their individual Instagram pages, releasing media that featured the song’s title alongside its initials ‘S&M’.
On Madonna’s profile, fans were quick to spot a split image of two distinct corsets in monochrome, with a caption that read: ‘VULGAR…………. fresh track dropping Friday, June 9th @samsmith [sic].’
The artwork also incorporated the title of the track, rendered in bold white letters at the bottom of the snap, as well as the initial letters in a large font and vibrant pink hue.
‘THE GRATITUDE, QUEEN MOTHER [sic],’ one excited fan commented on the post while another said: ‘OH YEAH, the anthem is nearly here [sic]’.

Sam unveiled a snippet flashing words in white and punchy pink letters, which read: ‘Sam partners with Madonna for SXM Vulgar release on June 9th [sic]’.
The announcement burst onto the screen against a shimmering black backdrop and was posted with a caption that confirmed: ‘VULGAR debut by SAM & MADONNA this JUNE 9TH [sic]’.
Fans were thrilled at the prospect of a performance by Sam and Madonna, showering the Unholy hitmaker with positive comments.
Loads of fire emojis and memes flooded the comments section, with one user gushing: ‘Suddenly I found myself fainting [sic]’.
Another user exclaimed: ‘You must be pulling my leg [sic],’ while another comment read: ‘OMG I’m so excited, can’t hold my patience [sic]’.
The well-regarded artists tantalized their fans for some time with hints of their collaboration before finally revealing their plans this week.
Speculation first spread when they met at the Grammys and Madonna awarded Sam and Kim Petras with a prize for their dance number Unholy.
Earlier this week, both parties posted images featuring only the initials ‘S’ and ‘M’ – action that sent their fans into a flurry of excitement without disclosing the reason for it.
In a teaser post, they announced the upcoming song with a brief clip that displayed ‘Sam and Madonna’ before going dark.
The shared video, which first appeared online a week back, carries no description.
Vulgar is set to be released on June 9.
