Snoop Dogg dancing in the rain while a Scotsman performs one of his biggest hits on bagpipes is an unlikely sight, but it occurred and was every bit as strange and amazing as it sounds.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper arrived in the UK this week as part of his European tour, which will take him to London, Leeds, Copenhagen, Dublin, and Birmingham, to name a few cities.
But, the iconic rapper’s first stop was Glasgow, Scotland, where the airport employees made him feel all the love with a very warm welcome.
Snoop, 51, is seen bouncing about on the airport asphalt while doing his famous Crip Walk in a video posted to his Instagram.
He was clearly enjoying the traditional sounds of the bagpipes, which were being boldly played nearby by an airport employee wearing a high-vis vest and a tartan skirt, remixing Snoop and Dr Dre’s classic Still Dre.
To add to the fantastic images, numerous other airport employees simply stood about and watched, letting Snoop to enjoy the occasion.
After he’d gotten his fill, Snoop – real name Calvin Broadus – gave the bagpiper a thumbs up and climbed into his waiting vehicle.
‘Just touched down in Scotland,’ Snoop captioned the clip.
His fans were similarly pleased by his impromptu performance, with Rita Ora calling it ‘iconic.’
One fan weighed in: ‘Even kings dont get the piper treatment on arrival.’
‘Bagpiper is invited to the cookout,’ another quipped.
One follower added: ‘And that’s why Scotland is the best country in the world.’
Snoop has made a mark on his European tour thus far, as he was given a Belfast Giants ice hockey team sweater before of his gig at the city’s SSE Arena on Tuesday.
The tour honours the rapper’s phenomenal 25-year career, which includes iconic classics like Drop It Like It’s Hot, Gin and Juice, Sexual Seduction, What’s My Name?, Beautiful and Still A G Thang.
In recent weeks, he’s been seen hanging out with Ed Sheeran and Russell Crowe backstage at the singer’s gig in Australia earlier this month.
His tour will resume tonight at Denmark’s Royal Arena.
