Cruz Beckham made sure to give Spice Girls fans everywhere what they want – and what they really, really want – by posting a fantastic video of all five members performing Mama.
Melanie C, Mel B, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell-Horner reunited with Victoria Beckham to celebrate her 50th birthday last month at a sumptuous celebration.
Family, friends such as Tom Cruise (who fully embraced the vibe), Eva Longoria, and the Spice Girls all descended on private members club Oswald’s for the celebration, which is said to have cost a cool £250,000.
We would previously seen the beautiful photo of Victoria getting a piggyback from her adoring husband David, 49, as they left around 3 a.m., as well as the girl group’s singalong (with proper choreography, of course) to smash single Stop.
However, that was not their only performance of the night, as Victoria’s youngest son Cruz, 19, was able to cajole them into an acoustic live version of the tear-jerking classic Mama.
The fivesome swayed boldly in front of the microphone, arms wrapped around one another, singing along to the chorus.
As they paused, Mel B then joked: ‘Are we in tune? I’m not sure we are.’
The crowd in the room responded with whoops and cheers as Victoria then instigated a big group hug.
‘You’re welcome…,’ Cruz – who has musical aspirations himself – wrote in the caption of the video as he shared it to Instagram on Wednesday night, knowing it would delight fans.
‘OMG Cruz! Thank you for making this happen and then sharing it! 🤩 They are so special 😭’ wrote superfan @danispiceboy in the comments.
‘Cruz just broke the Internet,’ joked Karen Lawson, which shot right up to the top of the section with nearly 1,000 likes.
‘Cruz you’ve made the @spicegirls fan community VERY VERY happy!😍,’ added a grateful Kevin Wyllie, while Melanie Dawn enthused: ‘Youngest kid to play with the classic Spice Girls! And it’s one of the girls sons! I can’t. This is clearly life in full circle!!!😍🔥’
‘And great that you’re playing the chords for “Mama” on the guitar… for your mom’s birthday <3,’ pointed out Angie Hung.
‘@cruzbeckham my fav spice son. Gracias!❤️,’ posted David Carrillo.
Obviously, fans everywhere were asking for an official Spice Girls reunion, a persistent and hopeful wish considering the frequent Glastonbury whispers.
Following the original singalong clip, it appears that this reunion is more possible than ever, with bookies pricing a Spice Girls reunion at Glasto in 2025 at just 2/1 last month, with Victoria’s birthday celebrations driving those low chances.
Geri departed the chart-topping band in 1998, and the five reunited in 2007 after releasing their greatest hits, but their new single Headlines failed to reach the UK top ten.
It took another five years before the quintet reunited, this time for the 2012 Olympics in London.
Emma Bunton, Mel B, Melanie C, and Geri have been performing as the Spice Girls since 2018, but Victoria has yet to join them onstage.
