Travis Barker shared a gruesome photograph of his finger mid-surgery with his fans on Friday, amid tour cancellations.
The drummer, 47, returned to Instagram following his surgery, having previously disclosed his hospital visit to his fans before going under the knife.
Thanking admirers for their support throughout his treatment, she stated it was a’success’ and shared two photographs, one of which showed his ring finger being operated on.
He posted a lengthy statement of thanks to his Instagram page, giving admirers a glimpse into his recuperation.
‘Thank you for all your love, prayers, and understanding this week while I went into surgery,’ Travis wrote.
‘That was a difficult decision to make, but I couldn’t continue to play the drums without it. My finger would have dislocated again if the damaged ligament had not been surgically repaired.
‘So grateful for Dr. Shin and that my surgery was a success so that I can keep doing what I love and see you guys on tour soon (trigger warning: last photo is hard to look at) [sic]’.
His wife, Kourtney Kardashian, also took to social media to share a snapshot of her husband in a hospital bed, with the words ‘thank you God, amen,’ written above it.
Friends and fans expressed their condolences in the comments section, urging the Blink-182 drummer to recuperate quickly.
Steve Aoki typed: ‘Sending prayers my brother’, while American rapper Yelawolf posted: ‘Love ya bro !!! you’ll be back on stage in no time !!! [sic]’.
‘You will overcome, per usual… you are a f***ing warrior!!! Much love bro!! [sic],’ was another fan’s response to the musician’s pictures.
On Monday, the musician revealed his intention to have surgery on his finger, claiming that he had hurt his ring finger twice in the previous month.
He revealed that incident occurred during preparations for his band’s forthcoming All The Little Things reunion tour.
The drummer posed for a picture, showing even more graphic photographs of his damaged body part, and captioned it, ‘Surgery tomorrow,’ with the fingers crossed emoji.
Travis announced the operation on February 8: ‘I was playing the drums during rehearsals yesterday when I dislocated my finger and tore the ligaments.’
He then disclosed that he would be skipping gigs in South America to recuperate, and he apologised to supporters online: ‘South America I adore you, and I’m so sad I won’t be able to attend these events’.
The tour for Blink-182 will now begin on May 4 rather than the previously announced March date.
