Beyonce has unveiled the artwork for her new country album, Cowboy Carter, which includes a gorgeous image of her seated on a horse.
But what is the horse’s name? That is the main question…
The steed has such a legendary moniker that it’s only fitting that it appears on an album cover with the Queen herself.
After Bey shared the stunning artwork on social media, Justina Omokhua, SVP at Parkwood Entertainment, revealed on her Instagram Story that the horse portrayed is named Chardonneigh.
Yes, really. How fabulous?
Reacting to the horse’s punny moniker, fans were beside themselves.

‘Chardonneigh, I’m here for it!’, wrote X user Jakelvian.
‘This is the best thing i have ever heard in my life’, said waflanagan.
‘Chardonneigh! You’re doing great, sweetie!!!!’, praised kikiballchange.
‘This is the single greatest name for a horse ever’, added AaronMurtagh10.
Chardonneigh has joined the family, along with Reneigh, the name given to the mirrorball horse on Beyonce’s Rennaisance album artwork.
When Chardonneigh paid her Instagram due, Beyonce wrote a nice comment about her new album and passion for country music.
‘Today marks the 10-day countdown until the release of act ii. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the supporters of TEXAS HOLD ‘EM and 16 CARRIAGES. I feel honored to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart,’ she began.
‘That would not have happened without the outpouring of support from each and every one of you. My hope is that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.’
The Halo hitmaker explained that ‘this album has been over five years in the making.’
‘It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.’
She added: ‘The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.’
Teasing what’s to come, the Grammy winner wrote: ‘I have a few surprises on the album, and have collaborated with some brilliant artists who I deeply respect. I hope that you can hear my heart and soul, and all the love and passion that I poured into every detail and every sound.
‘I focused on this album as a continuation of RENAISSANCE…I hope this music is an experience, creating another journey where you can close your eyes, start from the beginning and never stop.’
She signed off: ‘This ain’t a Country album. This is a “Beyoncé” album. This is act ii COWBOY CARTER, and I am proud to share it with y’all!’
Naturally, fans are excited about the star’s forthcoming release, with some speculating that Taylor Swift may appear on a tune.
Of course, Taylor is no stranger to country music, having begun her career and established herself in the genre.
X user gpemps wrote: ‘Swear WE NEED A BEYONCÉ-TAYLOR SWIFT DUET PLS PLS PLSSS’.
‘if this is the album where Beyonce finally brings back country Taylor Swift the internet is gonna break in HALF’, echoed relientkenny.
The duet is hardly surprising given the two performers’ previous outspoken support for one other.
Most recently, Beyonce and Taylor attended each other’s concert film premieres; were they leaving an Easter egg for us?
