If you’re the sort of person who never wants their trip to end, this extended travel experience will appeal to you.
The world’s first three-year cruise was recently announced, allowing travellers the opportunity to live at sea while still seeing the world.
The MV Gemini by Life at Sea Cruises will set sail on November 1 to 135 different nations, travelling 130,000 miles and visiting 375 ports across the world.
The ship will leave Istanbul, with stops in Barcelona, Spain, and Miami, Florida.
Passengers will then have the opportunity to visit 13 World Wonders, ranging from the Colosseum in Rome to the Taj Mahal in India. The Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro and the Great Wall of China are also on the agenda.
Sunbathers may unwind on the Caribbean’s unspoiled beaches, while more adventurous travellers can venture via Antarctica to view penguins in the wild and admire the region’s stunning glaciers.

It truly is a vacation of a lifetime, with stops on every continent. These aren’t quick trips however, as the ship docks for up to a week at a time in each location, giving you a true sense of the region.

There are 14 offices on board, as well as 400 rooms that can accommodate up to 1,074 passengers (who we suppose you’ll come to know rather well throughout your prolonged trip).
It’s not cheap, with a regular inside cabin costing $29,999 (£25,022) per person every year. But, financing alternatives are available, and these rooms provide up to 130 square feet of space to rest in after a day of touring.

The suite with a large balcony is the most costly cabin. This costs $109,999 (£91,804) per person per year and measures 322 square feet when the outside space is included.
Although while these appear to be large sums, when you compare the cruise’s monthly starting price of $2,499 (£2,085) to London rent, it doesn’t appear to be that awful – especially given that it is all-inclusive.
All tickets include meals, beverages, lodging, WIFI, medical appointments, and all onboard activities, as well as port taxes and service costs. You’ll even receive free beer during dinner, which is really unique in the cruising industry.

Outside of dinner time, alcohol is not free, and you must pay extra for spa treatments, medical procedures or prescriptions, shore excursions, and some premium services, as well as if you want a permanent office space to call your own.
It’s also an all-or-nothing proposition. Passengers must book for the entire three years; there are no short-term options, so commitment-phobes beware.
It is, however, the ideal bucket list excursion for people who desire to pack their bags and leave the rat race.
But make sure you don’t become seasick, otherwise it may be a very long three years.
