Alesha Dixon truly can do it all, as she demonstrated in Tuesday’s Eurovision semi-finals.
The Mis-Teeq singer, who is now best known as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, is one of the hosts of Eurovision 2023, and she is keen to make it a memorable event.
Alesha demonstrated she takes her hosting duties very seriously as she brought back an old ability as Liverpool completely turns into Eurovision Central and fans travel from across the country – and far beyond – to witness the spectacle.
Alesha relived her Misteeq days by belting out a (pretty decent, to be honest) rap live on TV while some of the artists jumped with her and others in the audience cheered.
To say the least, the rap was topical, identifying former Eurovision winners and paying special respect to last year’s champions Kalush Orchestra, and Alesha didn’t skip a beat.
However, as stunning as it was, it was somewhat unexpected, and fans rushed to social media to wonder whether they had truly just witnessed what they had.

‘Please why is alesha dixon rapping im scared,’ one excitable viewer wrote, while one said: ‘Not the Alesha Dixon rap!’
‘This Alesha Dixon rap needs a jump scare warning,’ another said.
However, many people were pleased by Alesha’s return to Mis-Teeq days, with one claiming that she was’still a queen.’
‘Can I vote for Alesha Dixon?’ one fan joked, while another agreed it was the ‘best performance so far.’

The first night of the semi-finals had lots to talk about, with a surprise appearance by Bucks Fizz, Mel C’s voice supposedly being flung out across the arena, and the newly-crowned King Charles and Queen Camilla appearing in a video.
Alesha is joined this week in Liverpool by Graham Norton and Hannah Waddingham, as well as Julia Sanina, a Ukrainian singer, songwriter, and Hardkiss band frontwoman.
Those at home are hearing the voices of Scott Mills and Rylan Clark, but as the programme began, they became sure they were hearing none other than Spice Girl Mel C.
Meanwhile, voting for the 2023 semi-finals has begun, with Loreen, Kaarija, and Alessandra competing for Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
The tournament will resume on Thursday with the second night of the semi-finals, followed by the main event – the Grand Final – on Saturday night.
