Sex Actually host Alice Levine has volunteered for a variety of unusual encounters while filming her programme, but the latest season finds her receiving a ‘virtual blow job’ at a Berlin brothel.
The presenter, who previously hosted the podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno, is back with three new episodes in season 2.
In these, she will investigate a “whole new host of sexual preferences,” as well as encounter people who are pushing the frontiers of sex, relationships, and intimacy.
The episodes will look at the role of technology in sexual pleasure, polyamory, and a fetish known as feedism.
Yet one of the most shocking scenes occurs early on, when she agrees to be videotaped performing a virtual sex act.
Once she arrives in the German metropolis, which she refers to as the ‘Capital of Kink,’ Alice says that she will be visiting a brothel operated entirely by a crew of silicon dolls.
It promises a “shame-free sexual playground,” goes beyond physical connection, and looks to be a global first.
When Alice initially tries on the goggles, she describes it as a Blade Runner-style experience, but things become really interesting when she’s reminded that she has an appendage in this virtual world.
‘This has escalated very quickly,’ Alice says.
‘Oh god wow,’ she exclaims as things heat up and she can look down and see everything.
She adds: ‘What’s mad is it’s happening to me, but I feel like a voyeur, but I am looking down at my penis…said no-one ever.’
She meets with one of the clients after inspecting all of the dolls on offer and learning how they function.
But, Alice gets her hands muddy and volunteers to assist clean up, which she looks to regret.
Wearing rubber gloves, she admits it’s ‘very odd’ to aid with this portion of the procedure.
Since last season was featured on Gogglebox, Alice quipped that they’d have much to speak about this time as well.
‘Even though the people of Gogglebox will likely once again spit out their dinner, I’m thrilled Channel 4 have decided to have me back to explore some more extraordinary love and relationships stories,’ she said ahead of the release.
During this season, Alice also meets a man who is married to his sex doll, goes to a sex party, and is cast in a fetish movie.
Sex Actually with Alice Levine starts today at 10pm on Channel 4 and will then be available to stream on All 4.
