Alison Hammond might not have expected Dermot O’Leary’s unexpected job advice while the co-hosts were live on-air.
The presenters on Monday’s This Morning, who are filling in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during the Easter holiday, were going through the day’s news as normal.
One of the tales was about a study performed by psychologists at Pace University in New York, who discovered that if women pronounced their ‘Ts’ correctly when saying terms like ‘boat’ and ‘boot,’ they were more likely to seek out long-term partnerships with English-speaking males.
Alison, 48, looked perplexed that some people didn’t reflexively pronounce their ‘Ts,’ prompting her to repeat some of the aforementioned words aloud, complete with hard ‘Ts’ at the conclusion.
Dermot, 49, was impressed and turned to her, saying, ‘That was amazing what you did there. That should go on OnlyFans.’
Alison was taken aback by his proposal, perhaps because OnlyFans is known as a platform for adult material, before showing how she said the word ‘boot’ once more.
‘Of course you’re going to pronounce the “T” in “boat”. Why would you not?’ she questioned.
Guest Gyles Brandreth, on the other hand, pointed out that’some people don’t,’ adding,’some people are quite casual.’
The 75-year-old then made a proposal to Alison, demonstrating how his dialect could be alluring while flirting wildly.
‘Alison. Boat trip? What do you think of it? Shall we go?’ he asked.
‘Literally, I’m in there. When you pronounce that “T” it’s different, I’m not gonna lie,’ she responded.
Alison confirmed that she is now unmarried during an interview on This Morning a few days ago, after being engaged to gardener Ben Hawkins.
After it was reported that a man had been detained on suspicion of blackmailing her, the TV celebrity posted an inspiring video on social media saying that she “always wins.”
‘You want to know four major reasons why I will always win?’ said a narrator in the video. I don’t hate on anyone, I pray, I remain in my own path, and I’m not vying with anyone except myself.’
This Morning airs from 10am on ITV.
