While some presenters may want to show some Dutch courage before appearing on television, Amanda Holden has revealed that she abstains from drinking before Britain’s Got Talent.
The 52-year-old television personality, who sits on the judging panel with Simon Cowell, 63, Alesha Dixon, 44, and Bruno Tonioli, 67, has revealed her pre-show regimen, which includes a lot of bedrest and no glasses of Savvy B.
‘The week before [the show] I do try and get extra sleep,’ Amanda disclosed.
‘I don’t drink whilst I’m doing Britain’s Got Talent and the week before just so I’m clear, clean, and fabulous.’
If only we had Amanda’s willpower…
Speaking to Express.co.uk, mum-of-two Amanda also said that she makes sure she’s hydrated.
‘I drink loads of water because I’m on Heart Breakfast every morning,’ she added. ‘I don’t deny myself anything. I think being happy and confident shines.’
This year’s version of Britain’s Got Talent is presently in full gear, with a comic allegedly stripping nude on stage, a man lighting himself on fire to solve a Rubik’s cube, and someone doing farting feats among the acts thus far.
Amanda was in tears earlier this month after youngster Cillian O’Connor, 13, earned a standing ovation during his magic act.
With his clever quips, the child had the judges in stitches and also managed to put the audience in a trance after turning on a bulb with the click of his fingers.
‘You’ve made me and Alesha a mess,’ a tearful Amanda remarked in the episode.
‘You were amazing, I mean absolutely phenomenal. Great showmanship, I’m really glad magic has changed your life and has given you so much confidence, but above all of that you are a little superstar, so well done!’
Britain’s Got Talent airs tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
