Arnold Schwarzenegger returns in a high-octane promo for his debut television series.
The action star is scheduled to portray CIA Agent Luke Brunner in FUBAR, a comedic drama for Netflix, and fans won’t have to wait long to witness his series debut.
The streaming company tweeted with the teaser video, ‘Arnold is back — and starring in his first TV series ever: FUBAR! Except for the ice pack he’ll require, everything else is top secret.’
According to Netflix’s website, Arnie’s character will be sent “back into the field for one more mission” when the episode premieres on May 25, 2023.
‘A CIA agent on the point of retirement finds a family secret,’ says the synopsis. Forced to return to the field for one more mission, the series explores universal family relationships against a global backdrop of espionage, action, and comedy.
In addition to assuming the helm, Arnie will serve as executive producer with showrunner Nick Santora.
Other executive producers include Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg, as well as Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Holly Dale, and Bill Bost.
The trailer contains everything you’d expect from Arnie, with the actor riding a motorcycle through the streets, explosions, and a funny sack tap from Fortune Feimster ‘for being emotional’ to conclude things.
‘I’m back, baby,’ he quipped earlier in the clip.
Not surprisingly, fans are loving the idea and can’t wait to see it unfold, with one Twitter user writing: ‘Take my money.’
‘This is either going to be fantastic or terrible. I can’t imagine anything in between,’ said a second fan, while another pointed out that good or bad, they’re still desperate to see it.
A fourth person tweeted: ‘His swag is irreplaceable. He’s definitely BACKKKK…. #arnoldisback,’ and yet another added: ‘Yes please. It’s the era of angry old dudes with guns TV and we’re just living in it.’
FUBAR is coming to Netflix on May 25, 2023.
