In his first Netflix TV series, Arnold Schwarzenegger showed he still had the skills as he made his super spy debut.
Fans have received the official trailer for the adrenaline-fueled comic drama Fubar, in which the action icon, 75, will star as CIA Operative Luke Brunner.
The new eight-part series follows Luke and his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) as they discover that they have both been CIA operatives in the shadows for years. They subsequently recognise that their entire relationship has been a deception and that they don’t actually know one another at all.
In the trailer, Luke is shown working on a classified project.
‘What was the plan?’ Luke’s evil opponent asks, with Luke responding: “To kill you all and then to leave.”
Short and sweet!
Luke lights up a cigar and declares he’s ‘officially retired,’ and decides to reunite with his daughter.
However, as the pair get reacquainted they realise they have a lot more in common than they thought.
The official synopsis teases: ‘A CIA Operative on the verge of retirement discovers a family secret. Forced to go back into the field for one last job, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humour.’
The series debuts on Thursday, May 25, so viewers won’t have to wait long.
Additionally included in the cast are Gabriel Luna, Fortune Feimster, Fabiana Udenio, Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, and Jay Baruchel.
Arnie not only leads the charge but also collaborates with Nick Santora, who is the showrunner, as an executive producer.
Along with Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg, additional executive producers include Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Holly Dale, and Bill Bost.
Fubar premieres on Thursday May 25 on Netflix.
