Following The Banshees Of Inisherin’s victory at the Baftas on Sunday, actor Barry Keoghan shared sweet photos of his kid and co-star Colin Farrell.
At the award presentation, the Irish actor, 30, was named best supporting actor for his part in the black-comedy/drama, while his co-star Kerry Condon was named best supporting actress.
In celebration of his gong, he posed with his little tot who was cradled in the arms of Colin for a picture that went straight to social media along with the caption: ‘Uncle Col’.
For the occasion, Barry wore a scarlet suit, while his fellow Irishman Colin wore a traditional black tux with a fresh white shirt.
Accepting the prize, the actor quipped that he “should have planned this” before thanking his co-stars and Ireland.
During his remarks, he also dedicated the award to youngsters from his hometown.
‘It stimulates the arts at home, and we are an island of stories and wonderful actors, poets, and authors,’ Barry told the PA news agency in the Bafta winner’s lounge.
‘And this helps the industry massively at home and encourages people to send the scripts in and go for what they want to do.’
He went on to say that he planned to celebrate his victory with his kid by ordering room service after the event, and that he would store the medal next to a photo of his mother.
The actor also stated that the success of The Banshees Of Inisherin at the Baftas will inspire Irish artists to’send the screenplays in and go for what they want to achieve’.
The picture won large and dominated the night, with All Quiet On The Western Front in German.
‘I know every Irish person in the cast and crew is saying “best what?”‘ remarked director and writer Martin McDonagh after earning an award for excellent British picture.
He also acknowledged the stand-in donkey, who he said is British and never made it on film because she was ‘too tubby,’ and gave a final bow to the hugely popular project’s cast and crew.
