Big Brother has been back on TV for less than a week, and because to the nature of the show, we’ve already said goodbye to the first housemate, Farida Khalifa.
After receiving the most nominations from the housemates, Farida, 50, challenged Kerry Riches, 40, in the first public vote.
The audience was eager to have their say, and over 500,000 votes were cast ahead of tonight’s eviction.
To deliver the results, hosts AJ Odudu, 35, and Will Best, 38, reunited for the first time since launch night.
Of course, AJ had to say the legendary, albeit somewhat modified owing to the channel shift, Big Brother catchphrase: “You are live on ITV2.” Please do not swear.’
The couple delivered the judgement while speaking to the house, and Farida immediately had to say her goodbyes before departing the house for forever.
The Wolverhampton make-up artist took it all in stride and welcomed her leaving, saying in her post-eviction interview, ‘I feel like a winner.’
‘I’m pleased to be out,’ she remarked, since she wants to ‘preserve my energies.’
She was also showered with applause from the audience, which she relished.

The remaining 15 housemates will now compete for the title of Big Brother champion and the £100,000 prize.
Farida earned eight nominations from Hallie, Henry, Dylan, Paul, Olivia, Tom, Jenkin, and Kerry earlier in the show. Chanelle, Matty, Yinrun, Noky, and Farida each nominated Kerry five times.
Paul was nominated by both Trish and Jordan, while Henry was chosen by Zak, however they both avoided being evicted.
When Farida and Kerry were named as the vulnerable roommates, there was some tension in the house.
Olivia, 23, grinned as Farida stated that she assumed the house was voting off the elder inmates. This irritated Farida, who took issue at the’smirk’.
Kerry and Farida also had a heated discussion regarding the hypothesis.
Farida explained to AJ and Will why she believes that it was hard for her to get on with Kerry: ‘She’s not the kind of person I would spend time with. I can’t be dealing with drama. I’ve got a life. She does a lot of he says, she says gossiping.’

On X, previously Twitter, viewers responded to Farida leaving ahead of NHS boss Kerry, and not everyone was pleased.
‘That is an outrageous result. JUSTICE FOR FARIDA,’ shared one person.

As annoying as they both are, those of you that voted for Farida over Kerry, I hope you stump your toe on the corner of the sofa.

‘And it seems to me, you lived your life like a candle in the wind. I can’t think of many more memorable first evictees. But you gave us your all and annoyed everyone in the process. Gone but never forgotten.’ typed one viewer.
Another added: ‘As annoying as they both are, those of you that voted for Farida over Kerry, I hope you stump your toe on the corner of the sofa.’
Of course, there was a lot of love for Kerry, who won Big Brother’s first round! We can’t wait for the next round.
Big Brother continues Sunday on ITV2 at 9pm
